Oh...Bass Pro

About two weeks ago I was talking to my dad about his upcoming birthday and Father's day. He is always so persistent that he does not want any gifts. Well, obviously, I always get him a gift and I always have to wing it because he won't ever name anything he wants. So I pinned him in a corner and told him this year would be different. I have a "big girl" job now and I can afford to get him a nice gift and he had to tell me what he wanted. Well, I gave him two days to think about it and then I called him. He told me he wanted a new fishing reel, a Shimano Sonora 4000 fa. I was so glad that he was able to name something he wanted. I wrote down the information and set out on my quest. I looked online to see if the company had a website and they did but they don't sell directly from the website. Store Locator gave me two stores, one of which was closed and one of which has yet to open in Montgomery. I decided to call Bass Pro Shop in Prattville. I called and got the fishing department and asked the guy if they had this specific reel. First, he comes back and says "Nora, we don't have any nora reels". I went on to say, not "Nora but Sonora, S-O-N-O-R-A" He says "Okay" and I hear him calling to his co-worker "Sonra" He gets back on the phone and says "Ma'am I can't find that" I spelled it for him again and he says "Do you know how much it costs???" "No sir,I don't know how much it costs that's why I called you" After all that work he tells me they don't have it. I got off the phone and I thought...Bass "Pro" yeah right....wow.

And just so you know, I got the reel from a locally owned company in Louisiana where the guy actually knew the names of the reels he sold.

You are worth it Dad! :)

Until Next time-
Les
